ALL FLIGHT TRAINING IS COMPLETED IN A ROBINSON R44 (Not R22 or Simulator!)

Instrument Rating: $ 425/Hour Simulated Instrument Training (10 Hour Blocks)
FAA Regulation Minimums:
Steps Required:
- Obtain an FAA Private helicopter pilot's license
- Complete the Instrument ground school course
- Log sufficient flight training
- Pass an FAA written test
- Pass an FAA oral and flight test
Minimum requirements for obtaining your Helicopter Instrument Rating are as follow:
- 50 hours of cross-country flight time as Pilot in Command
- At least 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time
- At least 15 hours must be in a Helicopter
- At least one 100nm cross country flight along an airway or ATC directed routing. Three different instrument approaches during this flight with the use of navigation systems.
- 3 hours in preparation for the flight test

There are many ways to price the Instrument Course. X-Country and PIC flight times from obtaining your Private Pilot's License can be credited to the above minimums for the Instrument Rating. Also, flight time obtained from your Instrument Rating can be credited to minimums for the Commercial Pilot Certificate.
Using your flight experience determine how many hours you need to meet the above minimums.

The above are minimum hours required to be eligible for the practical test. Acutal hours will vary depending on student ability and motivation. Pricing is based on 10 Hour Block Rates.
